Spring Training Series, MI Challenge, Cone-Azalia, Paris-Ancaster Report & the "REAL" Paris-Roubaix!
SPRING TRAINING SERIES
Spring has arrived and with it, the racing season has started. The biggest events in Michigan in April are the combined Flying Rhino Cycling Club / Quick Release Spring Training Series, which take place in Waterford and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The FRCC events are 3 races which take place at the Waterford Hills race track, March 25th, April 1st, and April 8th. The Quick Release races take place April 2nd, April 9th, April 23rd and April 30th. To date the series has been raced extremely aggressively. It’s apparent that many of the top Michigan racers are already in excellent shape. The team has raced extremely aggressively and looks to come out of the series well positioned to contest for the overall Michigan Challenge series titles.

CONE-AZALIA CLASSIC ROAD RACE
Members of the Sunrise Sports team will be promoting the upcoming Cone-Azalia Classic Road Race, Sunday, May 7th. This race takes place across the farms and fields of SE Michigan. The terrain is pan flat. The course is a 10 mile loop with 3 miles of dirt roads. Combine the road surface with the strong crosswinds and you have a race that is much like a Belgian spring classic. This race typically ends in a solo victory or small groups of 2-3 riders.

PARIS-ROUBAIX
The week before the famous Paris-Roubaix road race, Vince Roberge (Sunrise team member racing in Belgium in 2006) was part of a group from the Cycling Center who were filmed riding over a cobblestone section of the Paris-Roubaix course and inside the Roubaix velodrome. This was all part of a special being done on the Cycling Center program for Belgian TV.
