Weekend Racing Report - August 14, 2005

The Hines Park Time Trial

Held on the same great course as the State TT Championships, but only 1/2 the distance, this race if always a favorite amongst the insane TT aficinados in the Michigan peloton. The shorter distance means racers can ride more aggressively without feeling the need the hold something back for the end of the race. Speeds and times reflected this super aggressive approach, with the winning time averaging nearly 30MPH over the 12 mile course. THAT'S FAST!!!

With super organization by the Cycling Saddlemen and great timing and results by The Timing Guys, it's always a blast to race this event.

Great rides were put in by Gary DeAngelis, 6th in the ProI/II class in a time of 27’18.61” and Derek Timmerman, 4th in the Elite Men Category 3 class in a time of 27”57.29”. Both these guys rode FASTER than 27mph for the full 12.4 miles. Incredible!
