Sunrise Sports Cycling Team Race Reports
Weekend Racing Report - April 30, 2005
Wolverine Sports Club Willow Park Time Trial - New Boston, Michigan
On Saturday, 12 team members turned out on a slightly cold, 50F day. The time trial course was in Willow Metro Park located just off I-275 in New Boston, MI. Since this was the first race of the MI Challenge, it was also the first time this season many of the riders would be getting a complete look at the competition. Racers came from all over Michigan, Ohio and even Canada. Throw in the odd “hammerhead” triathlete who will show up to race time trials for “fun” and you’ve got some fierce competition.
Off first were the Juniors and immediately the day started out great for the Sunrise Sports Cycling Team with Derek Timmerman winning the Junior Men 16-18 category with a time of 32’14:54”. This is Derek’s third win this season!
